Hotel Chain Jurys Inn switch water supplier to Thames Water to reduce water costs.

Thames Water has landed its first new customer in Scotland, Hotel Chain Jurys Inn have three sites in Scotland Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow, the switch will presumably reduce water costs for the Hotel Group.

Winning this deal is an important landmark for Thames Water.

At the moment it appears there are more opportunities for companies to enter the water retail market in Scotland for none household business customers, perhaps when the UK government get their act together companies in England and Wales will receive the same benefits?

Senior Water Consultant Graham Mann of H²O Building Services the leading water and waste water cost reduction firm says ” We have yet to be convinced of real value in switching water suppliers, only last week we completed a water audit for a large Motor Vehicle Retailer and discovered a £ 10,000 overcharge due to incorrect billing and on another a potential reduction in waste water charges from £ 450,000 per year to £ 200,000 per year. I do not call this service! This is why we are advising new and existing clients caution as the water companies rush to secure new customers across borders in other water company areas.

Questions we would ask are: –

* Will you guarantee that the bills you send us are correct and the individual charges are correct?

* Will you identify and advise ways of reducing our charges?

* Will I have a dedicated billing manager / advisor?

* Will I have 24/7 emergency support?

* Will I have consolidated bills?

* Will I have on line account management?

We would suggest if the new proposed supplier cannot say yes to all of these key questions our advise would be think again and obtain advise from our water audit team, it’s free and without obligation and totally independent.”
