Lyons Holiday Parks call in water leak detection experts to locate a costly water leak.

Lyons Holiday Parks are a leading Leisure Park company having eight holiday parks located throughout North Wales.

Just like any other cost aware business the team are always monitoring their water and waste water costs and at £2.96 a cubic meter (220 gallons) Welsh Water rates are one of the highest charges in the UK. Even a small water leak can be costly to the business as these will get bigger over time.

The maintenance team at the park noticed a large increase in water consumption recorded on Welsh Waters water meter which recorded all of the water used on the site.

They took immediate action by calling in the Water Leak Detection experts at H2O Building Services who had attended other sites in the past and proven to provide a first class water leak detection service.

A senior water leak detection expert was dispatched and upon completion of the water leak survey a detailed water report was generated which highlighted a water leak running at 23 cubic meters per day and if left to run would use a staggering 8,395 cubic meters in 12 months (or 1.846 million gallons at a cost of £25,000).

In reality the water consumption and costs would have risen as water leaks do tend to get worse not better.
