Severn Trent Water refuse yet again to refund overcharge our water audit reveals.

A major steel fabricator and engineering company based in the Midlands supplied copies of their water bills levied by Severn Trent Water to H²O Building Services for a water audit review, it was flagged up that the charges were incorrect for many years. A detailed site survey was completed and Severn Trent Water have refused to refund all of the monies overcharged, their reply is quite staggering ” The onus is on the customer to apply for a reduction in charges for the surface water element of their charges” they also say “Our customers expect to see higher standards of service”

So this major water company is apparently absolving itself from all responsibility to levy correct bills and it is down to the customer to ensure all aspects of the charges are correct. If there is a mistake and an overcharge they will make an offer to refund some of the money but not all of it and the customer has to agree to a “full and final” settlement in return for the partly refunded monies which the customer is rightly entitled to be returned. This client was overcharged over £ 7,000 and is due quite a lot more, this is not a unique case but a regular occurrence.
